Aloha from Hawaii, making a house a home and planning for the big wedding celebration!

Aloha!!!

In the middle of April, we finished up the last ETOPS proving run for Allegiant to be qualified to fly to Hawaii. Through the hard work and dedication on many levels, we passed! It was a wonderful experience and it is such an exciting step for Allegiant's future. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to explore the beautiful island of Honolulu. I can tell you by the sights I saw flying in, that I will be back one day soon. It looks like paradise!

 A treasured key....
is the one that unlocks the place you call home. Of course, the key does not resemble this one however it feels that fancy. I love knowing I'm walking into OUR home.

I have been nestling in and decorating. This is a picture of the edge of a glorious jet bathtub that I find myself using more than I thought I would. We are still waiting on orders for Oliver and then the HHG (household goods) can be shipped. With an empty house it stills feels full knowing we will be together soon and this long year apart is coming to a close.

The Wedding plans are officially confirmed for The Flamingo in Las Vegas, NV in October of 2012.
A save the date will be sent out soon with the exact date and time.
I found a beautiful dress and we are greatly looking forward to celebrating with our dear friends and wonderful family.

Inspectors identified and coined individual Airmen and civilians across the base who displayed exceptional performance and knowledge in their jobs. Six Airmen were identified as "Top Performers" and were presented with certificates of recognition and an IG coin following the official rating announcement.

The Top Performers of the 8th FW CUI are:
  • Capt. Randy B. Kinsey, 8th FW chief of inspection
  • Capt. Oliver Lause, 80th Fighter Squadron
  • 1st Lt. Christina M. Kulp, 8th FW plans and programs
  • Tech. Sgt. Amanda O'Brien, 8th Medical Group
  • Staff Sgt. Linda S. Hogan, 8th Logistics Readiness Squadron
  • Senior Airman Justin R. Gordon, 8th Operations Support Squadron
"We've worked hard preparing for these inspections, but the thing I'm most proud of is the way we partnered with the Mustangs, at Osan, in the months leading up to this," said Rurka. "We made history over the past year and the legacy we leave for the next class is something we should all be very proud of."
"Grades are just that ... Grades," said Pleus. "More importantly, we are more combat-capable today and these results confirm our ability to Defend the Base, Accept Follow-on Forces and Take the Fight North!"

It's been a crazy last few weeks for him and the communication has been tough. Like always, he's been giving it his all and I am so proud to support him. Great job babe, I'm so proud of you!!!

I'm looking at going to Dallas, TX to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday. It will be nice to get some family time in. Then it looks like another busy month of work.

Sending BIG hugs and love XOXOX
